Our advice is to rent a car from the first day of arrival on the island as Crete is excellent and has a lot to see and do. It has a stunning beach and, based on the claims of several residents of the island, is the place where the famous painter Dominikos Theotokopoulos was born, known worldwide as El Greco. At the Museum of Dominic Theotokopoulos, you will be able to see copies of well-known works of the great artist. We highly recommend it, especially for art lovers.<\/p>\n<h2>The Archanes<\/h2>\n<p>It is a traditional settlement with restored houses with awards given by the European Union. It is a lively place all year round with many choices of tourist accommodation and great archaeological interest.<\/p>\n<h2>Agia Pelagia<\/h2>\n<p>It is 18 km from Heraklion and located in a closed bay and has experienced excellent tourist boom in recent years. It has spacious and luxurious hotel units, restaurants for all tastes and intense nightlife.<\/p>\n<h2>Matala<\/h2>\n<p>A special place that owes its glamour to the famous &#8220;children of flowers&#8221;.
